Most of our offices around the globe have now moved into a hybrid way of working, where we’re testing a mix of home and office work. This new flexible set up means we’re not in our offices five days a week, and so we believe investing in office spaces that inspire collaboration is more important than ever.
We communicated the opening of our new office on the Isle of Man here – but July was a busy month for our teams in Estonia too, who moved into a new space in Tallinn, located right between the old and new towns, in the heart of Rotermann Quarter.
Considered to be one of the most environmentally friendly countries in the world; Estonia boasts some of the cleanest air in the world, with 52% of the country covered by forests. We took a leaf out of Estonia’s playbook and adopted a sustainable approach with the design of our new Tallinn office. Having officially been certified as carbon neutral, by the Carbon Trust back in March, we at Gamesys are committed to understanding, reducing, and offsetting the energy use and climate change impact of our operations.
From sourcing carpets with high volumes of recycled material, to paint with low volatile organic compounds, and selecting a solar renewable energy source (making the office 100% self-sustainable and able to provide energy back to the city of Tallinn), we were committed to making the most environmentally positive choices.
Our employees, local suppliers and officials were able to enjoy the incredible views over the city of Tallinn from the new rooftop terrace during the official opening party in July. Miguel Caron, General Manager for our Estonia hub, expressed his gratitude to the mayor of Tallinn, Mr. Mikhail Kolvart who was in attendance, to the various partners for their help and support in the entire office setup, and to the families of employees who lent a helping hand whenever and wherever this was needed.
